New Camera

In preparation for this trip, I've gone and picked up a waterproof digital camera. I plumped for the Olympus TG-2, as it seems to get the best reviews amongst it's peers within my budget, particularly for picture quality both in- and out-of the water, and has the fewest user reviews saying that it's not actually waterproof (Which was what decided me in the end...).

I've not had all that much time to play with it so far, although 'luckily' it absolutely hammered it down on Saturday which gave me the perfect opportunity to get stuck in getting things damp and dirty. With that in mind, I found a torrent of water flowing down the gutter and threw the camera in - both to see how well it fared under water, and to see how well the slow motion video works...
Not the highest resolution, but as it's recorded at 240 fps I can forgive it that! It will also capture with twice the resolution at 120fps, which might be a happier middle ground.

The Camera has a second fun little trick up it's sleeve (although I'm not sure how useful it will be) - Super Macro:

Again, this might not be of the finest picture quality, but it's certainly a lot of fun to play with...!

The last feature it has which looks like it might get played with is GPS/Compass - so if I can't remember where I took each picture, I can simply look it up!

I can't wait to get out there and start snapping, hopefully I'll get something worth looking at! (especially down with the dolphins!)
